Kenmore State School

Dellor Membrane Structure

During our initial site visit at Kenmore State School, we noted that there was a tin roof walkway running beside the area that was to be covered in a vinyl roof system. To ensure that children would not be able to climb onto the vinyl system, we proposed a number of alternative options including the ‘butterfly’ design which the client decided to proceed with. Not only does this design provide a three meter high gap over the walkway, it also provides great roof height for the children’s ball games.

The new Dellor Membrane System allows the area to be illuminated by natural light during the day, reducing the need for additional lighting. The guttering system runs along the centre of the structure and down into the underground stormwater system which helps keep the ground dry and free of tripping hazards like grates and base plate footings.

By using top quality materials and fabricators we were able to deliver and effective an attractive waterproof membrane roof system that exceeds its original purpose. Much to the appreciation of the Parents and Teachers Committee, the children at Kenmore State School now have an outdoor area to play in that offers high levels of protection from the sun and the rain.

Shade sails

The brightly coloured shade sails recently installed at Kenmore State School demonstrate the schools commitment to providing their students with a safe and stimulating learning environment. The two large sails cover another part of the outdoor play area. The sails are manufactured and connected to each other in such a way that the fabric is pulled evenly from the connection point. This removed the need for an additional post in the middle of the playground.
